Sinus Headaches Once in a while I'll battle a sinus headache. At those times my head really feels like it's going to explode. All day long all that I feel like doing is staying in bed and sleeping. When I have sinus headaches, I can't think straight and don't feel like being around anyone. My thoughts jumble together and life is pretty darn miserable. Sinus headache days are days that I'd like to erase from my memory all together.

4.) A signal of Pharyngitis. A child having a nose throat infection or Pharyngitis is surely to have a bad odor in the mouth because of the bacterial infection he/she is suffering.

3.) Certain conditions like acute and chronic sinusitis. These types of sinusitis are usually causing nasal drippings or discharges either through the nose or through the mouth-nose connection that is situated at the upper portion of the mouth. These drippings can foul the breath or mouth of a child, which will cause his bad breath as well.

My friend's not the only one who experiences sinus problems to such a degree. There are many more people out there, young and old, that suffer from the same kinds of symptoms that make it hard to get out of the bed in the morning. Sinus problems cause major problems for all those who wish to live healthy, active lives. Steps can be made and medicine taken to improve these sinus problems.

Causes Some irritants cause allergies and infection in the nasal channels and blockage of the drainage of sinus fluid. Some structural abnormalities within the nasal passages may also be responsible for blocking of the drainage system. The deviated septum the structure dividing the nasal passage into two sides is an example. Low immune function can also lead to infections of the nasal channels. Infections like HIV/AIDS or gastroesophagal reflux disease and non-allergic rhinitis.

3. Dr. Josephson is a surgeon, and he pushes for a very conservative approach regarding turbinates. In the past many surgeons routinely cut out parts or even most of the turbinates in people. In recent years it is becoming apparent that this can have disastrous effects on patients over time, and there are many horror stories to read at the forum of the ENS Association web site. ENS stands for Empty Nose Syndrome, which is the term coined for this condition.

5.)Allergies. Seasonal allergies may as well cause your child's bad breath. Certain allergies can cause post nasal drippings that like sinusitis, can cause bad odor in the mouth. This is because it has bacterial infections that may also cause these bad odors.

Symptoms Usual symptoms found in the patients suffering from allergies, sinus dizziness are facial pain and colored nasal discharge. Nasal congestion and loss of taste or smell are found in most of the cases. Fever, headache early in the morning, ear pressure, bad breath and fatigue are reported by some others. The patients feel weak and fatigued all the time. Some of the symptoms lead to dizziness.

Prevention Strengthening the immune system is the best way to prevent sinusitis infection. Healthy food and supplements can reduce the probability of the occurrence of sinus infection and the associated dizziness. Equipment like proper air conditioning can also lessen the severity of infection providing the right temperature. Intake of foods with high Vitamin C content like grapes, cabbage, lemon, broccoli, strawberries and raspberries are natural decongestants.

2.) Tooth decay. One of the most prevalent causes of bad breath in child is rooted from serious tooth decay. This can be identified with the smell of his breath. It smells just what his teeth smell, decayed.

A child is very likely to go through the same troubles as adults when they are experiencing shameful conditions like a bad breath. This is why it is very important that you provide the best guidance you can muster. Have them checked regularly if they are doing proper oral hygiene as you taught them to do.

2. Dr. Josephson strongly emphasizes the use of nasal irrigation. He uses a sinus irrigation device every day, as do I. He also talks about using a neti pot for sinus irrigation, but I've used both and find the irrigator much more effective. I personally would not even recommend the neti pot method.

Treatment The best treatments and medication are available to combat the allergies and infection over the counter. The other common way is through antibiotics like amoxicillin etc. Mostly allergies sinus dizziness will get better within 10 to 14 days of taking antibiotics. Chronic patients may need longer courses. The symptoms of allergies sinus dizziness can be reduced by natural irrigation process of the sinus. It is a yogic practice called 'Neti'. This has positive effects beyond the health of the nasal irrigation system.

4. Dr. Josephson says that smokers with CAID problems simply must quit. He has some appreciation of the difficulty of quitting, however, and offers some guidelines for that as well.

Don't let them skip any of these as it is for their own good and what they practice at this early time will be adapted as years flow. You don't want them to go through difficult situations that involve being backed away by their friends and loved ones, do you?

There are a number of things I was pleased to see in 'Sinus Relief Now': 1. Dr. Josephson is a sinus sufferer himself. He has undergone sinus surgery, uses the therapies he recommends, and 'knows the feeling'. I got the feeling when reading the book that this person has gone through some of the same pain I have experienced.

One point is made clear throughout the book: like high blood pressure, sinus disease cannot be 'cured' in the sense that it is gone once and for all, but it can only be controlled. But with this awareness and being knowledgeable about one's problem, it is possible to control these health issues, and one can improve his or her life and not be forced to 'just live with it'.

1.) Poor oral hygiene. Children at a very young age are oblivious to oral hygiene as well as the rest of types of hygiene that a person must indulge on. You need to help them understand what it is for and why they need to do it regularly even if that will mean doing it by themselves. You can also do some switching of toothpaste brands and flavors so they will have fun while exercising the oral hygiene by themselves.

Sinus Problems A few days ago my friend and I started talking about sinus problems. He told me he constantly has to deal with sinus problems from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed at night. This friend of mine described a usual day for him and how sinus problems make most days a terrible experience. He says that upon waking up he can already feel the pressure surrounding his eyes. If he doesn't take measures to relieve the pressure in the morning, it remains with him throughout the day at work and at school. The pressure constantly builds and irritates. By mid afternoon, he feels like taking a nap to rid himself of the pressure. He says he'll try methods get rid of the pain but nothing usually works. Caffeine doesn't make him any less sleepy and definitely doesn't get rid of the pain. His sinus problems affect him during his classes as well. He can't concentrate during class as he focuses on the immense pressure and pain surrounding his sinuses. At work, he had more troubles focusing and getting his tasks done. To me that doesn't seem like a fun way to start off each day, let alone spend the whole day.

In the U.S. alone this includes about 70 million people who suffer from sinus disease, asthma, allergies, reflux diseases GERD and LRPD, as well as sleep problems like snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Josephson believes that all these problems can be related for the simple reason that they all are associated with parts of the body which are directly connected together in the upper and lower respiratory and digestive systems. This is an interesting concept and is explained clearly and thoroughly in the early chapters of the book. Dr. Josephson discusses the symptoms of all these maladies and then offers a CAID test, which helps the reader understand which branch of CAID is causing his problems. He explains symptoms and possible treatment options in great detail for the various 'limbs' of CAID, sinus disease, allergies, asthma, GERD and LPRD, and sleep disorders such as snoring and sleep apnea.

When I first started seeing an ENT specialist years ago for my sinus problems, I purchased a couple of books on the subject of sinusitis. When I mentioned this to my doctor and asked a couple of questions that showed a bit more knowledge of the subject than most people had, he frowned and had a worried look on his face. He then commented that having only 'a little bit of knowledge was dangerous'. I therefore appreciated the comments by Dr. Josephson in his new book entitled 'Sinus Relief Now- The Groundbreaking 5 Step Program for Sinus, Allergy, and Asthma Sufferers'. He stated: 'If your physician responds negatively to your newfound knowledge or is obviously uncomfortable working with a patient who is well educated about his or her disease, it's another clear signal that it's time to move on' (and find another doctor). I wish I had had this advice at that time, as the doctor eventually performed my first sinus surgery, caused me immense pain, and he didn't improve my situation at all.

Sinus problems affect millions of people on a daily basis. Many people face these problems from the time they wake up in the morning until they go to bed at night. These problems affect them at work, school, play, and during relaxation times. It's a drag to be constantly pulled down with sinus infections and sinus headaches. Life can seem unbearable at times from sinus problems and better off just to sleep the day away.

6.) A foreign object rotting in the nose or mouth. A child is too risky to be left alone. He or she may shove something into his or her mouth without you knowing it. This maybe something like a corn kernel, a pea, or just anything that can amuse him or her. When it is left in the nose or mouth for more than a day, they will begin their decomposition period and rot and smell. This smell will be transmitted to the breath of the child, but not for long, it will be gone too.

Allergies, sinus dizziness are associated with sinus problems. The symptoms of these allergies are very common such as runny nose, excessive sneezing, sore throat, watery eyes, bad breath and itching nose. Sinuses are the hollow cavities in the facial bones. Inflammation of the sinuses is known as sinusitis. It is caused by viral infection or due to fungus or mold in the sinuses. Dizziness is also caused by infection but do not show any symptoms. This condition can be cured within two weeks with proper treatment.

It should be mentioned at this point that Dr. Josephson is a well known and highly regarded ENT specialist and surgeon. He has several times been on New York magazine's 'Best Doctors' list. He has been an expert commentator on many local and national television programs, and he is the Director of the New York Nasal and Sinus Center. I personally believe this book should be part of the home library of anyone who suffers from what Dr. Josephson calls CAID, or Chronic Airway-Digestive Inflammatory Disease.
